Could I suggest also publishing the MEDIAN price along with the average. It helps overcome the distortion of a small number of very expensive properties on the calculation and is more commonly used in the US when quoting house price values. It is not to my knowledge quoted here, probably because the median is lower than the average, but gives a better indicator of affordability since it is the middle of the distribution.

Hi Folks
Just a question for the masses. I currently commute 1.30hrs(to and from dublin) to work everyday and due to job change i am moving into rented accomadiation in dublin i was wondering should i rent out my 3 bed semi even though the rent wont completely cover the mortgage or change my mortgage to intrest only and pay off abigger lump sums semi annually from the income?? Any serious responses welcome.
